The John R. Weir Canine Partners Quiz Night - UPDATE

Our recent Quiz Night & Auction proved to be a great success raising over £8,000 and we are thrilled to have, yet again, achieved our target to cover the cost of training a Canine Partner Alexandra from 'Puppy to Partnership'.

This would not have been possible without the kindness of may of our customers and staff. 

Unbelieveably we now have over £4,000 to start the 'School Fund' for our next puppy and we will keep you posted with news on the new puppy as and when we have it.

Many thanks to all who contributed and congratulations to Alan Walker & his Team 'The Hairbrain Bunch' on winning the 2011 Quiz.

Alexandra, the 3rd dog sponsored by John R. Weir Staff, Customers and Friends is now 10 months old and has grown considerably since her last visit to Perth in February this year.

Alexandra is due to move on to the 'Big School' at Heyshott to commence her advanced training in early 2012.  She has been busy with her puppy parent Linda experiencing many different situations from visiting our dealership in Grangemouth on several occasions, trips to Asda, Glasgow Airport and not forgetting her visit to an old folk's home where she received plenty of attention.  In fact, Alexandra receives attention where ever she goes!

All puppies must deal with everyday situations sensibly and properly to prepare them for their future working life with their partner so this early 'Primary School' training with her puppy parent is vital to Alexandra's learning.

Alexandra has also become quite the star and has been photographed with many celebrity faces including Jack Vettriano and Hollywood Star Gerad Butler.

We do not know where Alexandra will end up or with who but we will certainly keep you posted on her progress when she goes to 'Big School' and beyond.

John R. Weir is delighted to continue their support of Canine Partners.  Alexandra follows in the training paw prints of Moray the Golden Retriever and Scott the Labradoodle both sponsored throughout their training by John R. Weir Staff, Customers and Friends.

Throughout the year the John R. Weir Group along with Mrs Weir will arrange fund raising events and evenings to create further awareness of the charity and to ensure there continues to be funding in place to sponsor many more dogs for this very worthwhile cause.
